The tooth is a very small organ, and it is unlikely to be able to see all its anatomical features with the naked eye. Since it is difficult to achieve good visibility in the oral cavity without special optical instruments, for a long time the treatment of the teeth was based on the tactile sensitivity of the doctor's hands, his skill and experience. In this regard, a large number of dental manipulations were difficult to perform, and some even impossible.
